Following is a selection of cases from our practice:

  • In May 2004 MM Consult completed an advisory assignment for structuring EUR 2 mln project financing for its client BBG & Co. The financing is provided by a Bulgarian bank and will be utilized for the construction of 18,000 sq. m (194,000 sq. ft) mixed-use prime location complex in Sofia. The loan is secured with future income from sales of apartments and offices in the new complex, future rental income from existing properties owned by the client, and first-rank mortgage over other real estates.

  • In January 2004 MM Consult structured EUR 701,000 project financing for its client Don & Co. Don & Co Ltd. is a real estate development company, based in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2002, Don & Co signed a long-term lease agreement with a first class tenant for two floors of prime office space downtown Sofia. MM Consult Ltd. advised Don & Co on structuring of the loan facility, needed to finance the sponsor’s growth plan and restructure its balance sheet. The loan was partially secured with the cash flows from the lease contract.

  • Through the years 2000 to 2004 MM Consult was requested on various occasions by a US based client to research the business conditions and opportunities for market penetration and capacity expansion for different players. These assignments covered the areas of CEE and the Balkans.

  • In 2002-2003 MM Consult together with Vienna-based Meinl Capital Advisors acted as a co-advisor on Carlsberg Breweries' acquisitions of breweries in Bulgaria.

  • In July 2002, MM Consult Ltd. completed project financing through securitization of future rental income for a local client. Leveraging on this innovative for the Bulgarian financial system vehicle, the client financed its investment program, and refinanced its short-term liabilities. The concluded lease agreements for prime real estate property enabled our client to seek long-term loan financing to be securitized with the future payments under the lease contracts.

  • In 2001, MM Consult conducted a proprietary research on a segment of the food and beverage sector in Bulgaria. Following a key players analysis, our team issued a recommendation for a multiple step acquisition strategy, which would enable a new entrant to penetrate the Bulgarian market. Later, MM Consult joined a European investment bank team and played advisory work at different stages of the acquisition procedure for a top international client.

  • In 2001, MM Consult was approached by a Fortune 500 company that requested a multi-task audit procedure on its Bulgarian operations and its Bulgarian subcontractors. MM Consult was awarded an extensive contract for providing such services to the client.

  • In late 1999, a large multilateral institution sought analysis on the privatization of large enterprises in Bulgaria. The assignment required building a team of experts under tremendous time and budget constraints. Our team needed to: (a) identify the sources of relevant and reliable information; (b) systematically gather, group and validate the largely unsystematic information; and (c) apply conventional approaches in analyzing the data in order to communicate it to the beneficiaries. The innovative use of CI techniques by our teams resulted in key recommendations that initiated a set of regulatory changes and facilitated the strategic planning of the multilateral agency.

  • In 1999, MM Consult was approached by a Bulgarian holding structure of companies, which needed strategic managerial advice for its operations' restructuring, growth positioning and fund raising. Since then MM Consult provides a wide range of consulting, corporate finance, and research services to this group of companies. In 2002, MM Consult initiated a challenging green field investment project for the same client

  • In 1999, MM Consult was approached by the Delegation of the European Commission in Bulgaria and was requested to review the institutional capacity of two units of the Bulgarian administration. Following it, MM Consult was asked to develop the concrete terms of reference for a TA project that was to be competitively tendered for an external consultant to provide services for institutional support to the Bulgarian government.

  • In 1998, MM Consult developed for an international investment bank a detailed feasibility study and an action plan for the hostile take-over of a top-ten Bulgarian public company.
